#TipfulTuesday: Saying Thank You!

I just love the saying: “Gratitude is the most exquisite form of courtesy”. Even the sentence is pretty.

Here’s a quick tip: SEND.A.THANK.YOU.NOTE. Every once in a while – bring out your pretty stationary and put that pretty pen to work. It takes only a few moments and creates a lasting impression.

Did someone go above and beyond and you would like to say a little more than a hand written note? Here are some of our favorite “Sussies” (this means a little something, brought to you by our great friends a Creme de la Creme Cake Company):

  1. Pretty Perfect Packages – adorable customizable thank you packages. Bonus points: you’re shopping local!
  2. Yellibelly Chocolate – because who doesn’t like chocolate?!
  3. Dandelion Cheesecakes – they deliver their tinies (bite-size) or large cheesecakes all over Dallas Fort-Worth plus they ship nationwide!
  4. Tiff’s Treats – coooookkkkkkiiiieeeees. Warm, warm cookies (and milk).
  5. Customizable stationary – so eventually they can thank you back.
  6. Favorite Food – do you know they have a favorite food or are from a certain area? If so, do a little bit of research and send them something from there.

We hope these ideas have given you a little inspiration for gratitude. Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

TipfulTuesday: What you need to know about a First Look!

The First Look has become a very popular moment on wedding days, where couples are taking the time to see each other before the ceremony and capture that moment when the groom finally gets to see his bride in her dress.   Here are a few tips on how to make your First Look extra special.

Make the moment private!  Take this time for just the bride and groom to let them have their private and special moment.   You don’t want to have family members and friends making comments and trying to step in and telling you or the photographer what to do and capture.  Make the First Look a moment just for you two!

Trust your photographer to capture the moment and to get all of the best shots!   This is their job and you need to trust them to capture every moment and get all of those special shots!

Having a First Look helps to knock out all of those photos that feel rushed and take away from the time between the ceremony and reception.  With a First Look, bridal party photos, family photos and bride and groom photos can all be complete before the ceremony even begins.  There also is more time to not have to rush and miss some of the photos you really wanted to capture!

We hope this information helps you decide between having a First Look or not and to be prepared when the time comes! Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

#TipfulTuesday: Planning a Post Wedding Brunch?

Hope you have been following along with us these past two weeks about post-toast & after-glow parties. Are you still feeling like it’s too soon for the wedding weekend to end? Why not have a post wedding brunch!

This is a perfect way to end your wedding weekend with a bang! To pull off an amazing post brunch you will want to find a location, speak with your venue first see if they have a garden area or a terrace with lots of natural light. Traditionally you will want to invite your family and wedding guests that are still in town. You can offer a come and go type of brunch where guests can drop in to say goodbye before they head home. Think stations: waffle, omelet, pancake, yogurt parfait, or breakfast tacos. Don’t forget to have a bloody mary & mimosas bar to give all those late night party goers a little hair of the dog!

Be sure to include an invite to the post wedding brunch so you can have a good guest count for food & drinks. How many post wedding brunches have you been to? None…well we are here to help! Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

TipfulTuesday: What is an Afterglow?

Photo Credit: Chavvon & Larissa Photography

Did you read our post last week about the post-toast? Great, welcome back. An afterglow is not to be confused with a post-toast. Let us explain…

An afterglow is that warm fuzzy feeling after… well, never mind. We mean it in the cleanest term of an after-party following the wedding reception. This party is for the late-nighters that don’t call it a night after the bars close at 2am. This one is for the all-nighters.

Practicality speaking here’s how to pull off the awesome-est after-glow ever… first, ask your reception venue and caterer before signing the contract to make sure they’re on board. Have this time written in the contract after the reception ends. Then, plan to your hearts content. Think: fun, lounge-style, bar seating with late-night passed snacks. Think: Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, Taquitos, Sweet Potato Fries, Potato Chip Bar, Crab Cake Sliders, and donut wall from our friends at Funky Town Donuts. Think: DJ if you had a band at the reception. Think creatively about the place to host your after-glow. This could be in the pre-function space where the cocktail hour was held or you can secretly transform the patio or terrace at your venue.

Getting the word out: You could send a separate small “psst” invite to some of your guests or just let the evening evolve into the whispers of a secret party after the reception with a very exclusive feeling.

How many well-planned after-glow parties have you been to? None, you say. Hello – we’re here to help. Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.
