TipfulTuesday: What you need to know about a First Look!

The First Look has become a very popular moment on wedding days, where couples are taking the time to see each other before the ceremony and capture that moment when the groom finally gets to see his bride in her dress.   Here are a few tips on how to make your First Look extra special.

Make the moment private!  Take this time for just the bride and groom to let them have their private and special moment.   You don’t want to have family members and friends making comments and trying to step in and telling you or the photographer what to do and capture.  Make the First Look a moment just for you two!

Trust your photographer to capture the moment and to get all of the best shots!   This is their job and you need to trust them to capture every moment and get all of those special shots!

Having a First Look helps to knock out all of those photos that feel rushed and take away from the time between the ceremony and reception.  With a First Look, bridal party photos, family photos and bride and groom photos can all be complete before the ceremony even begins.  There also is more time to not have to rush and miss some of the photos you really wanted to capture!

We hope this information helps you decide between having a First Look or not and to be prepared when the time comes! Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

TipfulTuesday: What is an Afterglow?

Photo Credit: Chavvon & Larissa Photography

Did you read our post last week about the post-toast? Great, welcome back. An afterglow is not to be confused with a post-toast. Let us explain…

An afterglow is that warm fuzzy feeling after… well, never mind. We mean it in the cleanest term of an after-party following the wedding reception. This party is for the late-nighters that don’t call it a night after the bars close at 2am. This one is for the all-nighters.

Practicality speaking here’s how to pull off the awesome-est after-glow ever… first, ask your reception venue and caterer before signing the contract to make sure they’re on board. Have this time written in the contract after the reception ends. Then, plan to your hearts content. Think: fun, lounge-style, bar seating with late-night passed snacks. Think: Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, Taquitos, Sweet Potato Fries, Potato Chip Bar, Crab Cake Sliders, and donut wall from our friends at Funky Town Donuts. Think: DJ if you had a band at the reception. Think creatively about the place to host your after-glow. This could be in the pre-function space where the cocktail hour was held or you can secretly transform the patio or terrace at your venue.

Getting the word out: You could send a separate small “psst” invite to some of your guests or just let the evening evolve into the whispers of a secret party after the reception with a very exclusive feeling.

How many well-planned after-glow parties have you been to? None, you say. Hello – we’re here to help. Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

#TipfulTuesday: Pantone Color of 2017

We are so excited for the Pantone color of 2017! “Greenery” is a symbolic of new beginnings. With every marriage starts a new beginning in the couples life’s.  This is a color that can easily be incorporated into just about any wedding. We got to play with this year’s pantone color at the PWG luncheon at The Ashton Depot this past month. Check out how we incorporated “Greenery” into our color palette!

Simple touches by adding the pantone color in with the napkin and water glasses.

What better way to add it in than your flowers!

You can even add the “Greenery” pantone color into your menu.

#TipfulTuesday: Keeping The Party Alive

We are always ready to have a good time at a wedding especially once the dancing portion of the evening kicks off! Our goal is to keep the entertainment going and make sure guests continue to enjoy the wedding festivities up until it’s time for the bride & groom’s send off!

DJ & Band:
Of course to set the tune for the evening, having secured a professional DJ or band to keep the momentum is key! They say your entertainment can make or break your wedding and it’s so true! Make sure you chat about the dynamics of your crowd and learn how your entertainment will help keep your dance floor packed!

Props:
We love involving all weddings guests and having props is a great way to include guests who are dancing or guests who prefer to take a seat. Sunglasses, glow sticks and other lite up props are great entertainment! Add in a confetti cannon to really get your guest feet moving on the dance floor. Plus props make for fabulous pictures!

Additional Entertainment:
Surprise your guest during dinner with dancers or a mariachi band if that fits your wedding day style. Find a way to merge the two cultures & families coming together. You can have a cigar roller setup making fresh cigars for the gentlemen.

Beyond the Photo Booth:
Photo booths are awesome and now there are so many other options available for your wedding! Slow motion videos to dub smash sing alongs help create for some fun evening moments and great memories for the bride and groom to look back on!

Midnight Snacks:
After lots of dancing, what partier doesn’t love some extra treats to munch on! Late night snacks such as donuts and coffee or a fun taco bar are great to reenergize your guests to stay until the very end.

And Last End on a High Note:
Having a great last song that all your guest can sing along too is key in getting everyone on the dance floor. Don’t stop there! Make sure to wrap up the night with an awesome send off so you can leave the rocking party that was just your wedding. Flutter Fetti or sparklers make sure great exit photos!
