#TipfulTuesday: From Our Thanksgiving Meal To Yours

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year to share with family & friends. A time to count your blessings in life and not the calories. This Thanksgiving we would like to share a few of our family recipes with you:

#TipfulTuesday: Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

PSA: Mother’s day is this Sunday, May 14th (friendly reminder and you’re welcome). We love all mothers – because we know that it’s a really hard job sometimes. We wanted to compile a list of some “awwww” worthy gifts for Mother’s Day or Mother of the Bride or Groom.

1. Charm bracelet. Customize it with momentous dates you’ve shared together.

2. Minted Heart Collage. Pull together some childhood photos and make a heart shaped collage. Pulls at the heart strings…

3. “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe it to my Mother” Abraham Lincoln quote. Search for this saying and find it in dozens of way to gift to your mom.

4. Picture frames. Include various childhood photos and gift a blank one to fill with a wedding day photo.

5. Gift-of-the-month-club. We love these style gifts because it’s something new every event. Trust me – she’ll love it.

6. Personal time. Plan a whole day with your mom. Visit the spa, have lunch together and go to art museums. Time is the most valuable gift your mom can receive and it’s probably the only gift she wants.

We hope this helps you with picking out the perfect gift for your mom! Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

#TipfulTuesday: Saying Thank You!

I just love the saying: “Gratitude is the most exquisite form of courtesy”. Even the sentence is pretty.

Here’s a quick tip: SEND.A.THANK.YOU.NOTE. Every once in a while – bring out your pretty stationary and put that pretty pen to work. It takes only a few moments and creates a lasting impression.

Did someone go above and beyond and you would like to say a little more than a hand written note? Here are some of our favorite “Sussies” (this means a little something, brought to you by our great friends a Creme de la Creme Cake Company):

  1. Pretty Perfect Packages – adorable customizable thank you packages. Bonus points: you’re shopping local!
  2. Yellibelly Chocolate – because who doesn’t like chocolate?!
  3. Dandelion Cheesecakes – they deliver their tinies (bite-size) or large cheesecakes all over Dallas Fort-Worth plus they ship nationwide!
  4. Tiff’s Treats – coooookkkkkkiiiieeeees. Warm, warm cookies (and milk).
  5. Customizable stationary – so eventually they can thank you back.
  6. Favorite Food – do you know they have a favorite food or are from a certain area? If so, do a little bit of research and send them something from there.

We hope these ideas have given you a little inspiration for gratitude. Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.

TipfulTuesday: What you need to know about a First Look!

The First Look has become a very popular moment on wedding days, where couples are taking the time to see each other before the ceremony and capture that moment when the groom finally gets to see his bride in her dress.   Here are a few tips on how to make your First Look extra special.

Make the moment private!  Take this time for just the bride and groom to let them have their private and special moment.   You don’t want to have family members and friends making comments and trying to step in and telling you or the photographer what to do and capture.  Make the First Look a moment just for you two!

Trust your photographer to capture the moment and to get all of the best shots!   This is their job and you need to trust them to capture every moment and get all of those special shots!

Having a First Look helps to knock out all of those photos that feel rushed and take away from the time between the ceremony and reception.  With a First Look, bridal party photos, family photos and bride and groom photos can all be complete before the ceremony even begins.  There also is more time to not have to rush and miss some of the photos you really wanted to capture!

We hope this information helps you decide between having a First Look or not and to be prepared when the time comes! Follow us on Facebook @SarabethEvents or Instagram @SarabethEvents.
