For our latest segment with Erin Harris we thought we would share some of this years best wedding trends. Some trends that we are have seen and will continue to stick around and other new ideas that we will expect this coming year. Remember brides, keep it simple, don’t try to combine all the trends into your wedding, be sure to have a clear vision of what you want. A new year brings a new Pantone color of the year and this years color is Honeysuckle. It is a beautiful color that you could be combined with a pale blue, yellow, taupe or grey.
Vintage Touches and Eco Friendly Options are another very popular trend this year, use your grandmothers old broach, or jewelry for your hair, it can also double as your something old. Plus, your grandmother will be truly touched. The sky is the limit when it comes to recycled material many paper companies are selling high quality recycled paper invitations. Don’t stop there use recycled paper for your save the dates, and programs.
The 2011 wedding trends include rustic-chic concepts, lots of details and a ton of creativity. We are seeing a lot of hand crafted banners lately. Use them for your get-away car, sweetheart table or even make one with your new last name for some post ceremony pictures.
The contemporary, modern wedding will continue to be popular in 2011. Brides are opting for non-traditional dress choices, (the little white dress) instead of a long gown. Ball gowns are also making a come back with a twist of vintage inspiration. Brides are looking for a bit more comfort then the A-line we’ve been seeing the past couple of years.
Bridesmaids dresses are going in all sorts of lengths one shoulder instead of the strapless short cocktail dresses. Brides are letting the Bridesmaids choose different styles of dresses. This trend we love and hope to see more and more of.
The contemporary trend will continue through décor, as well, with couples steering away from the customary 10-person round table and opting to mix table shapes and sizes. They are also incorporating bright and bold colors, cool lounge settings, and after parties; and letting the colors tie through the entire evening. With the cakes we are seeing extended tiers. It gives the cakes a unique look and that something “different” every bride is wanting. Flowers are truly where the bride and groom get to really have a good time and tie in all the elements of the decor. Add a little texture with the succulents, and flirty whimsical orchid and you’ve got a beautiful contemporary bouquet.
We would like to thank Stardust Celebrations, Elana’s Cakes, and Sahana Floral for making it all possible. For more information on the products used please visit:
